Its popping on accelleration, a little, and at idle. It is backfireing and shooting flames(yikes!) out the exhaust. Number 2 is worse than 1. It has a revtech carb, that I have never seen one like before. It also pops on decel. The carb has alot of oil in it.

He has put autolite plugs in it...and they are black carbon fouled. ...any who since I guess I'm the neiborhood MC wrench now, a guy stops by my place and wants to check the timing on his 03 Sportster...I say sure. But when we go through the manual, it looks like you have to check the timing with the timing light advanced 15 degrees. My light is the El Cheapo model with no advance. So I tell him to go buy a light and we'll check it out.

Currently the motor runs GREAT but the transmition needs some work. I think I have a bent shift fork. you can shift 1st, 2nd, and neuteral just fine. but third acts just like neuteral and 4th doesn't exist.

Going to have to pull the trasmition and take a look at it.

I'm also going to track down a set of stock length front forks and get rid of the 6 overs.....
